You’ve worked hard to get to where you are.
You’re great at DOING your job. That’s nice.
But do the people handing out promotions KNOW how valuable you are?
🤔 Do you TALK about your achievements?
🤔 Do you highlight your growth and contributions?
I’m guessing that some of you are squirming right now.
Perhaps you’re thinking - “how can I do that without sounding arrogant?”
Well, let me help you out. I looked up the definition of “arrogant” …
➡️ “Having an exaggerated sense of one’s own importance or abilities.”
So, here’s how to avoid being “arrogant”
Can we all agree that you can’t possibly fall within the definition of “arrogant” if you follow those three simple rules?
And I’m going to take a wild guess that you’re doing those things already.
Which might suggest that you are, in fact, not arrogant. 🤷♀️
If you want some frameworks to talk about your value more naturally, and a non-judgemental space to practice and get some feedback, come and talk to me. 🙎♀️
If you still worry about being seen as arrogant, PLEASE work with a coach to unpack that belief. It is 100% holding you back from creating the recognition you deserve.
